Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing or eligibility in the state
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education or related field
• Proficiency in multiple communication modes (ASL, oral, total communication, etc.) preferred
• Experience creating and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with families, staff, and students
• Previous experience within school settings appreciated

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and support for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Develop and adapt IEPs tailored to each learner’s goals and strengths
• Collaborate closely with general education teachers, speech-language pathologists, and other related service providers
• Facilitate accessible learning through use of assistive technology and visually supportive materials
• Advocate for student needs and foster inclusive, engaging educational experiences
• Participate in IEP meetings, staff development days, and parent conferences
