Key Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid state licensure/certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (or ability to obtain)
• Experience working in educational environments serving Deaf/Hard of Hearing students, including creating and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Strong communication skills for working with students, staff, and families
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) preferred or willingness to learn
• Dedication to fostering accessible learning environments

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement tailored lesson plans that accommodate a range of hearing abilities and communication needs
• Collaborate with general education teachers, interpreters, and service providers to ensure student access to the curriculum
• Assess and document student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed
• Provide guidance, training, and resources to school staff and families regarding hearing loss, accommodations, and assistive technology
• Support students’ social, emotional, and academic growth in inclusive and specialized settings
