This part-time opportunity, conveniently located near Manchester, MI, allows you to make a real impact across multiple days per week, ideally 3 to 4 days, in a welcoming, collaborative environment.

As a DHH Consultant, your specialized expertise will empower schools to create accessible, inclusive learning experiences and ensure that students who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing reach their fullest potential.

Desired Experience & Skills:

• Certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing, or equivalent credentials
• In-depth knowledge of best practices, assistive technologies & strategies in DHH education
• Experience working as a consultant or teacher for students with hearing loss, preferably in a school setting
• Skilled in providing professional development and collaborating with school staff & families
• Strong communication and advocacy skills
• Understanding of relevant special education laws, including IDEA and Section 504

Key Responsibilities:

• Consult with educators, administrators, and families to support the unique learning needs of students who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing
• Conduct assessments, interpret results, and recommend accommodations or interventions
• Guide teams on IEP and 504 plan development and implementation
• Provide training and resources to school staff regarding hearing loss and related instructional strategies
• Stay up to date with current trends and research to champion student success
• Foster self-advocacy and communication skills for students
