An exciting opportunity awaits an experienced Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to provide direct, in-person support to a high school student for the 2026-2027 academic year. This contract position is ideal for professionals passionate about empowering students and making a meaningful impact within an educational setting. The assignment begins on August 4, 2026, with daily hours from 7:45 AM to 2:45 PM CST, Monday through Friday.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education, preferably for high school level.
  • Experience working directly with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Knowledge of current best practices and assistive technology for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students.
  • Dedication to fostering an inclusive, accessible learning environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized instruction and support to a high school student who is Deaf/Hard of Hearing.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, school staff, and family members to maximize student success.
  • Adapt curriculum materials, assessments, and classroom strategies as needed.
  • Help develop and implement IEP goals tailored to the student’s unique strengths and challenges.
  • Monitor student progress and document outcomes according to school and state requirements.
  • Actively participate in team meetings and professional development relevant to Deaf/Hard of Hearing education.
