Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing or eligibility for state licensure
• Experience working with students across varying age groups and cognitive levels
• Strong knowledge of auditory/oral and/or bilingual-bicultural (ASL and English) instructional strategies
• Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Skilled in collaborating with parents, educators, and support staff
• Excellent communication, organization, and advocacy skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct and consultative special education services to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
• Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to meet unique learning needs
• Assess student progress and maintain documentation required by district and state
• Support student access to general education curriculum through accommodations, modifications, and assistive technology
• Serve as a resource for colleagues and families to foster understanding and accommodation of hearing differences
• Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary teams, and ongoing professional development
