Make an impact supporting students as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing in a dynamic school environment near Matthews, NC. You’ll work with a dedicated student group, championing individualized support and fostering communication success.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid teaching certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Experience with school-age students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with teachers, families, and school teams
- Proficiency with adaptive technology, visual communication methods, and classroom accommodations for students with hearing loss
- Ability to tailor goals and instruction to meet individual student needs and IEP requirements
- Comfortable working in-person and adhering to district protocols
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative instruction for a caseload of four students
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals in alignment with each student’s needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers and staff to ensure accommodations and modifications are in place
- Utilize appropriate teaching strategies and technologies to enhance student learning and engagement
- Document service delivery, progress, and communicate regularly with families and school personnel
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute specialized expertise
