Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid teaching certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
  • Experience with school-age students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with teachers, families, and school teams
  • Proficiency with adaptive technology, visual communication methods, and classroom accommodations for students with hearing loss
  • Ability to tailor goals and instruction to meet individual student needs and IEP requirements
  • Comfortable working in-person and adhering to district protocols

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and consultative instruction for a caseload of four students
  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals in alignment with each student’s needs
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and staff to ensure accommodations and modifications are in place
  • Utilize appropriate teaching strategies and technologies to enhance student learning and engagement
  • Document service delivery, progress, and communicate regularly with families and school personnel
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute specialized expertise
