Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Active Special Education teaching certification in Hearing Impairment (HI)
• Experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in a school environment
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

• Dedication to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning atmosphere
• Commitment to individualized instruction utilizing evidence-based teaching strategies

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver tailored instruction to meet the unique needs of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in partnership with families and school teams
• Utilize appropriate assistive technologies and communication methods, such as American Sign Language (ASL), as needed
• Advocate for student access and inclusion in academic and extracurricular settings
• Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting strategies to ensure optimal learning outcomes
• Serve as a resource for staff and families regarding hearing loss, accessibility, and educational best practices
