Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid state teaching certification for Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
• Experience working in a school or educational setting
• Proficiency with a variety of communication methods, including sign language and assistive technology
• Ability to develop and adapt curriculum for students with hearing loss
• Strong collaboration and communication skills
• Dedication to creating a supportive, accessible learning environment
• Bachelor’s degree in Deaf Education or related field; Master’s preferred

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct and consultative instructional services to students with hearing loss in accordance with IEPs
• Assess individual needs and adjust teaching methods to meet diverse learning styles
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, service providers, and families to enhance student achievement
• Provide advocacy, guidance, and resources to students and families
• Monitor and document student progress regularly, contributing to IEP reviews and planning
• Stay current with best practices and new developments in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
