Apply NowStep into a vital educational role supporting students from kindergarten through high school who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. With an immediate start, this contract opportunity lets you make a meaningful difference for the remainder of the school year, and possibly beyond. Working Monday to Friday (8am-4pm, 37.5 hours per week), you’ll provide essential instruction and advocacy at various locations in the Middletown, NY area. Your caseload will typically range from 20 to 30 sessions weekly, serving a variety of ages and educational needs across as few as two or as many as eight locations.

Qualifications & Experience
- Valid NY State Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing certification (required)
- Experience working with students in grades K–5, 6–8, and/or 9–12
- Ability to adapt instruction to suit a diverse caseload
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams
- Familiarity with IEP implementation and progress monitoring for students with hearing differences
What You’ll Do
- Deliver engaging instruction to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students across grade levels
- Develop and adapt curriculum to fit individualized education plans
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, staff, and families to promote student inclusion and success
- Monitor and document student progress, regularly updating goals and strategies
- Travel between 2–8 school locations as assigned, balancing a manageable session load
- Serve as an advocate and resource on Deaf/Hard of Hearing needs within the school communities
