Qualifications & Desired Experience

• Valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education (state eligibility required)
• Experience working in school settings with children or adolescents who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication modalities as needed by students
• Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, families, and service providers
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct and consultative services to students with hearing loss based on their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Develop and adapt instructional materials to meet diverse communication needs

• Collaborate with classroom teachers, audiologists, interpreters, and families
• Assess student progress and document outcomes according to district and legal guidelines
• Support staff and peers in understanding the needs of students who are deaf or hard of hearing
