In this contract role, you will play a key part in providing specialized instruction and advocacy to enhance students' educational experiences. Collaborate with general and special education staff to develop and implement individualized learning plans, while fostering an inclusive environment where all students can thrive.
Ideal candidates will possess:
- Valid teaching certification with endorsement in Deaf/Hard of Hearing or a related area
- Prior experience working with school-aged children who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Strong understanding of audiological equipment, assistive technology, and accommodations
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication methods
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and student advocacy
- Ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
You will be responsible for:
- Designing, adapting, and delivering individualized instruction aligned with IEP goals
- Supporting language development and academic growth for students with hearing differences
- Facilitating communication between students, families, and staff
- Conducting assessments and gathering data to inform instructional decisions
- Consulting on modifications, supports, and classroom strategies
- Serving as a resource for staff regarding Deaf/Hard of Hearing best practices
- Encouraging self-advocacy and independence in students
