Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) | Minneapolis, Minnesota

Make a meaningful difference each day supporting students from kindergarten through high school as a skilled ASL Interpreter in a school-based setting. In this contract role, you'll collaborate closely with educators and students, helping create an inclusive environment where all learners thrive. Work on-site in a dynamic educational community in the Minneapolis area, where your expertise in American Sign Language and interpreting makes a real impact.

Qualifications:

• Certification through the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID), such as RID-NIC or NAD IV/V, OR a minimum score of 4.0 on the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) with a passing score on the EIPA written exam
• Experience interpreting in educational settings across K-12 grade levels
• Strong command of American Sign Language and the ability to bridge communication between students, teachers, and staff
• Professionalism, reliability, and a collaborative approach
• Availability for a 35-hour workweek, on-site
• A passion for fostering accessible and equitable learning opportunities

Responsibilities:

• Provide accurate, effective interpreting services for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in classroom and school environments
• Support student participation in instructional and extracurricular activities
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary educational team to meet student needs
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to best practices in educational interpreting
• Adapt to a variety of subjects and grade levels as needed throughout the school year
