Desired Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid credential in Deaf/Hard of Hearing Education
• Experience working with students who are deaf, hard of hearing, or have related communication challenges
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or alternative communication methods
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive classroom atmosphere
• Ability to adapt lessons and materials according to Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct and consultative instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, guiding them toward educational success
• Utilize ASL or other communication modalities as needed to ensure access to the curriculum
• Develop and implement individualized lesson plans and maintain accurate assessment records
• Act as an educational advocate, providing resources and support to empower families
• Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and related service providers
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to goal-setting and progress monitoring
