This full-time contract opportunity runs for the full 2026–2027 school year, working weekdays from 7:45 AM to 2:45 PM Central Time. You’ll work closely with one student in an in-person setting, building meaningful connections and offering individualized support.

Requirements:

  • Valid certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
  • Previous experience with high school-aged learners preferred
  • Strong skills in American Sign Language (ASL) and alternative communication methods
  • A dedication to fostering inclusion, independence, and student growth
  • Ability to design and implement IEPs, adapting curriculum to meet unique learning needs
  • Collaborative mindset for connecting with general education staff and related service providers

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide direct instruction and support to one deaf or hard of hearing high school student
  • Develop and deliver lesson plans tailored to individual goals and communication needs
  • Evaluate student progress and adjust instructional strategies to ensure academic success
  • Advise, support, and collaborate with other educators to promote an inclusive learning environment
  • Utilize assistive technology and visual aids as appropriate
  • Engage with families to strengthen the student’s home and school connection
