A dedicated Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing is needed to work one-on-one with a high school student, ensuring that communication needs are met within an inclusive learning environment. This is a full-time, in-person position for the entire 2026-2027 school year, with hours from 7:45 AM to 2:45 PM, Monday through Friday.

Your expertise will help foster academic growth and advocacy, guiding your student from the first day of school on August 4, 2026, through a year of challenges and achievements.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid certification in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education
  • Experience teaching at the high school level, particularly with individualized support plans
  • Strong understanding of audiology equipment, assistive technologies, and relevant instructional strategies
  • Solid grasp of language development needs for students with hearing loss
  • Clear and empathetic communicator who collaborates well with families and school staff

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement tailored educational strategies for one high school student who is Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Adapt curriculum and instructional materials according to the student’s learning goals and communication preferences
  • Monitor student progress, document growth, and participate in relevant meetings and IEP processes
  • Act as a liaison between student, educators, and family members to foster a supportive educational experience
  • Maintain up-to-date records and comply with all confidentiality requirements
