You’ll work closely with one student in an in-person setting, building meaningful connections and offering individualized support.
Requirements:
- Valid certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Previous experience with high school-aged learners preferred
- Strong skills in American Sign Language (ASL) and alternative communication methods
- A dedication to fostering inclusion, independence, and student growth
- Ability to design and implement IEPs, adapting curriculum to meet unique learning needs
- Collaborative mindset for connecting with general education staff and related service providers
What You’ll Do:
- Provide direct instruction and support to one deaf or hard of hearing high school student
- Develop and deliver lesson plans tailored to individual goals and communication needs
- Evaluate student progress and adjust instructional strategies to ensure academic success
- Advise, support, and collaborate with other educators to promote an inclusive learning environment
- Utilize assistive technology and visual aids as appropriate
- Engage with families to strengthen the student’s home and school connection
