Key Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid State certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
  • Demonstrated experience supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing in educational settings
  • Familiarity with individualized education plans (IEPs), progress monitoring, and student advocacy
  • Strong collaboration skills to partner effectively with multidisciplinary teams, teachers, and families
  • Comfort and competence in providing instruction, accommodations, and resources to meet varied student needs
  • Commitment to culturally responsive teaching and diversity in the classroom

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized and small group instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Assess student abilities and develop teaching strategies that address their unique learning needs
  • Work closely with general education teachers to ensure accessibility and inclusion in all classroom activities
  • Contribute to student evaluation, progress documentation, and IEP meetings
  • Serve as a resource and advocate for students, staff, and families regarding hearing loss and communication access
  • Support the effective integration of assistive technology and visual resources in the learning environment
