This contract role offers the opportunity to work 10-15 hours weekly, providing specialized instruction and advocacy for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students. Your expertise will empower students to thrive academically and socially.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
  • Experience working with K-12 students with hearing impairments
  • Strong understanding of Deaf culture, auditory/oral approaches, and/or ASL
  • Ability to create and adapt individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families
  • Flexibility to work part-time hours and adapt to changing needs

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct instruction individually or in small groups based on student needs
  • Assess student progress, modifying strategies and interventions as necessary
  • Provide resources and support to general education teachers and staff
  • Develop and implement appropriate accommodations and modifications
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student planning
  • Foster an inclusive classroom environment that values communication, language, and self-advocacy
