Desired Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Experience working with K-12 students with hearing impairments
- Strong understanding of Deaf culture, auditory/oral approaches, and/or ASL
- Ability to create and adapt individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families
- Flexibility to work part-time hours and adapt to changing needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction individually or in small groups based on student needs
- Assess student progress, modifying strategies and interventions as necessary
- Provide resources and support to general education teachers and staff
- Develop and implement appropriate accommodations and modifications
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student planning
- Foster an inclusive classroom environment that values communication, language, and self-advocacy
