Qualifications & Experience Desired:
- Active or eligible certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Strong understanding of Deaf culture, sign language systems, and current best practices in deaf education
- Experience developing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and adapting instruction for varying communication modalities
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, students, and families
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Previous school-based or pediatric experience preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to students with hearing impairments across a range of grade levels
- Customize teaching strategies and materials to meet each student's educational and communication needs
- Work closely with general education teachers, interpreters, and other specialists to promote student inclusion and academic success
- Conduct assessments, maintain accurate records, and contribute to progress monitoring and IEPs
- Offer advocacy, resources, and support to students, staff, and families
