What you’ll need to succeed:

• Valid state certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
• Bachelor's degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or related field (Master’s preferred)
• Experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in educational settings
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication methods used by the DHH community
• Strong communication, collaboration, and advocacy skills
• Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Adaptability and a compassionate approach

Key responsibilities:

• Deliver direct instruction, resource services, and support to students with hearing loss
• Work within multidisciplinary teams to design and adapt lesson plans
• Consult and collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to create accessible learning environments
• Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed
• Encourage social-emotional development and self-advocacy for DHH students
• Support access to technology and assistive devices in the classroom
