Qualifications & Experience Desired:

  • Active or eligible certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
  • Strong understanding of Deaf culture, sign language systems, and current best practices in deaf education
  • Experience developing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and adapting instruction for varying communication modalities
  • Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, students, and families
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Previous school-based or pediatric experience preferred

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and support to students with hearing impairments across a range of grade levels
  • Customize teaching strategies and materials to meet each student's educational and communication needs
  • Work closely with general education teachers, interpreters, and other specialists to promote student inclusion and academic success
  • Conduct assessments, maintain accurate records, and contribute to progress monitoring and IEPs
  • Offer advocacy, resources, and support to students, staff, and families
