Teacher of the Deaf in Naperville, IL

Step into a fulfilling contract role supporting students as a Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Teacher/Hearing Itinerant for the upcoming school year. Work with a diverse range of students from kindergarten through twelfth grade, making a significant impact across multiple educational environments. Key Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Professional Educator License (PEL) from the Illinois State Board of Education, with a Teacher of Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) endorsement
• Experience working with DHH students across various grade levels preferred
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with students, families, and school teams
• Familiarity with itinerant teaching models and ability to adapt to multiple educational settings
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, accessible learning environment that supports individual student needs

Primary Responsibilities:

• Serve as the main DHH teacher for students assigned to your caseload, delivering required minutes of service each week
• Provide direct instruction and support to students with hearing needs across K-12 settings
• Travel between school sites as needed to serve students in their educational environments
• Collaborate with general educators, specialists, and families to ensure progress toward IEP goals
• Support the development and implementation of accommodations, modifications, and assistive technology
