DHH Teacher | Nashville, Tennessee

Key Qualifications:

• Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
• Experience working with students with hearing impairments in a school setting
• Strong understanding of various communication modes, including ASL, oral and cued speech, and total communication
• Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families
• Commitment to student advocacy and inclusive practices

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, adapting materials to meet individual learning needs
• Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to facilitate student inclusion and success
• Conduct assessments to monitor student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
• Advocate for student accommodations, technology, and resources
• Support families in understanding their child's educational needs and goals
• Participate in IEP meetings and keep accurate documentation
