Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid certification to teach Deaf/Hard of Hearing students required
- Experience working in an educational setting with children who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Familiarity with IEP documentation and implementation
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver tailored instruction based on each student’s needs and learning goals
- Create accessible educational materials and modify curriculum as necessary
- Advocate for and support students in mainstream and self-contained classroom settings
- Communicate regularly with parents, caregivers, and other educators to ensure consistency in support
- Participate in IEP meetings, maintaining accurate records and progress notes
