Desired Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid teaching certification as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or related field
- ASL proficiency strongly preferred; experience with alternative communication systems is a plus
- Familiarity with IEP development, progress monitoring, and data-driven instruction
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, parents, and staff
- Willingness to adapt instruction to diverse needs and age ranges
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in individual and group settings
- Develop and implement IEPs, collaborating with families and fellow educators
- Advocate for accessible learning environments by supporting accommodations and assistive technology
- Monitor student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback
- Serve as a resource on Deaf culture, communication strategies, and hearing loss to support staff and the wider school community
