Empower students as a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing in a vibrant school community near New Castle, DE. Key Qualifications:

• Valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing (state licensure or eligibility required)
• Degree in Deaf Education or a related field
• Experience with various communication modalities, such as ASL, oral/auditory, cued speech, or total communication
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
• Comfortable collaborating on IEP teams and with multidisciplinary professionals
• Familiarity with assistive listening devices and technology integration in instruction

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide direct and consultative instructional services to students with hearing loss, both one-on-one and in group settings
• Assess and monitor student progress; adapt lessons to meet individual needs and IEP goals
• Advocate for students, supporting their integration and success in general education settings
• Guide teachers and staff on effective strategies, accommodations, and resources
• Participate in IEP meetings, provide input on appropriate goals and accommodations
• Engage and collaborate with families to support student development and learning
