Desired Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid teaching certification as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or related field
  • ASL proficiency strongly preferred; experience with alternative communication systems is a plus
  • Familiarity with IEP development, progress monitoring, and data-driven instruction
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, parents, and staff
  • Willingness to adapt instruction to diverse needs and age ranges

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in individual and group settings
  • Develop and implement IEPs, collaborating with families and fellow educators
  • Advocate for accessible learning environments by supporting accommodations and assistive technology
  • Monitor student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback
  • Serve as a resource on Deaf culture, communication strategies, and hearing loss to support staff and the wider school community
