Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing Education (state credentials or eligibility required)
• Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing in an academic setting
• Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) and other communication modalities
• Knowledge of assistive technology and accommodations for diverse learners
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary teams, families, and students
• Understanding of IEP processes and ability to develop and implement individualized instructional plans

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing in classroom or resource settings
• Assess student needs and design lesson plans based on individual abilities, IEP goals, and best practices
• Foster an inclusive, supportive classroom environment that promotes language development, social-emotional growth, and academic achievement
• Collaborate with general education teachers, speech therapists, audiologists, and families to ensure seamless educational experiences
