Grades 9 - 12 K-5 Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher - New Paltz, New York

Step into an impactful educational role supporting students from kindergarten through high school as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. This contract opportunity begins immediately and is expected to continue for the remainder of the school year, with potential for extension. You’ll collaborate with school teams and provide direct services across multiple sites in the New Paltz, NY area, helping students thrive academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and group instruction to students in grades K–12 who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Conduct approximately 20–30 sessions per week, adapting to students’ unique needs and IEP goals
• Coordinate with up to 8 different school locations (often fewer), promoting inclusivity and accessibility
• Work closely with teachers, staff, and families to support student success
• Maintain accurate records on student progress and participate in IEP meetings
• Employ a variety of teaching modalities and technology to enhance communication and learning

Qualifications:

• Valid NY State Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teaching Certificate required
• Experience working with K–12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing preferred
• Strong communication, time management, and adaptability skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams
• Flexibility to travel between multiple school locations as needed
