Qualifications:

• Valid state certification as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Teacher
• Experience working with school-aged children in educational settings
• Strong knowledge of auditory and language development strategies
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) preferred
• Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Patience and enthusiasm for working with diverse learning needs

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, both individually and in small groups
• Develop and adapt lesson plans to support IEP goals
• Collaborate with general education teachers, speech/language pathologists, and other specialists
• Consult with families regarding student progress and strategies for success
• Advocate for accessibility needs and accommodations in the classroom
• Utilize assistive technologies and specialized resources to enhance learning
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary team discussions
