Make a meaningful impact as a dedicated Teacher for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students on a part-time contract basis. You’ll provide expert consultative services to a small caseload of 4–5 students ranging from elementary through high school, ensuring tailored support and education that makes a real difference. Key Qualifications:
- Valid New York certification as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (PK–12)
- Experience working with children and adolescents who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Demonstrated understanding and use of hearing-assistive technology, including FM/DM systems, AAC devices, or cochlear implants
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized consultation and instructional services per student IEPs, focusing on approximately 30-minute sessions each week for each student (about 5 hours total weekly)
- Develop and monitor individualized IEP goals tailored to the unique learning needs of students with hearing loss
- Provide guidance and support to school staff and families, promoting inclusive educational practices
- Manage required documentation and maintain detailed records in compliance with educational standards
- Assist in the integration of technology and accommodations to foster student achievement

- Service to 2 elementary, 1 middle school, and 1 high school student (may increase to 5 students)
- Part-time, contract position from September 7, 2026, to June 25, 2027
