Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- State certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (TDHH)
- Experience teaching children or adolescents who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) preferred
- Strong communication skills with a collaborative, student-centered approach
- Flexibility and adaptability in a school-based setting
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to students with hearing impairments in accordance with IEP goals
- Assess student progress and modify instruction as needed
- Collaborate with regular education teachers, parents, and support staff to promote inclusive practices
- Support students’ social and emotional development, serving as a resource and advocate
- Participate in IEP meetings, contributing to goal-setting and accommodations
- Maintain documented progress and compliance with applicable state/federal regulations
