Your Qualifications:

  • Valid state certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (or eligibility to obtain)
  • A degree in Deaf Education or a related field
  • Experience working in a school setting strongly preferred
  • Solid understanding of assistive technologies and their classroom applications
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and familiarity with other communication modalities
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Passion for supporting diverse learning styles and creating accessible instruction

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and adapt lesson plans to meet individualized student needs
  • Provide direct instruction to students with hearing loss, both in individual and group settings
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, staff, and families to foster an inclusive learning environment
  • Conduct ongoing assessments, track student progress, and participate in IEP meetings
  • Advocate for necessary accommodations, technology, and support services
  • Offer professional development and resources to colleagues regarding best practices
