This contract position offers a diverse, rewarding opportunity, with an itinerant schedule supporting students from Early Childhood through Transition age across multiple schools—primarily focused on consultative services in the Richmond area. You'll work exclusively on-site with a districtwide caseload, collaborating closely with educators and specialists.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) teaching credential
- Current CTC certification
- Experience providing consultative support for DHH students across age ranges (Early Childhood to Transition years)
- Strong collaborative skills to work with a team of educators, therapists, and staff
- Flexibility to travel between multiple school sites within the district
- Commitment to fostering equity and access for students with hearing differences
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver expert consultative and direct itinerant DHH support throughout the district
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents/guardians, and related service providers
- Adapt instructional techniques to diverse student needs and educational settings
- Contribute to the development, implementation, and monitoring of IEPs
- Maintain thorough documentation and provide timely progress reports
- Provide staff development or training when needed on strategies to support DHH learners
