Make a meaningful difference supporting students as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing in a vibrant educational community near Oakland, CA! This is an onsite, full-time contract role running from August 10, 2026, through June 4, 2027, providing services across multiple school sites. You’ll have the unique opportunity to deliver direct, in-person support for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students, enhancing access to education and fostering independence.

What we’re looking for:

  • Valid DHH certification/license in California
  • Prior experience working in CA schools highly preferred
  • Strong organizational skills paired with clear, collaborative communication
  • Ability to work effectively across multiple campuses as an itinerant DHH specialist
  • Comfort supporting students in person (not virtual/remote)
  • Commitment to professional, empathetic service and inclusive education

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering specialized, individualized instruction to Deaf/Hard of Hearing students in person
  • Consulting and collaborating with general education teachers and staff across multiple schools
  • Developing and implementing IEP goals, adapting curriculum as needed
  • Communicating regularly with families, staff, and related service providers
  • Traveling between schools to ensure comprehensive support for students on your caseload
  • Maintaining timely and accurate documentation, progress notes, and compliance tasks
