Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid teaching certification or credential in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
- Experience working with school-age children and adolescents in educational settings
- Familiarity with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and ability to implement modifications
- Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) and understanding of current assistive technology
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and interdisciplinary teams
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in individual, small group, and classroom settings
- Develop and adapt lesson plans to meet diverse communication needs
- Monitor progress and maintain accurate documentation to ensure compliance with educational goals
- Serve as a resource and advocate, offering guidance and training to staff and peers regarding best practices in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
- Collaborate with general education teachers, speech-language pathologists, and other service providers
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of student-centered goals and strategies
