Key Qualifications:

  • Valid state teaching certification for Deaf/Hard of Hearing or eligibility for licensure
  • Degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or related field
  • Experience working in schools with students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Familiarity with American Sign Language (ASL), auditory/oral methodologies, or other communication supports
  • Strong skills in collaboration, communication, and individualized instruction

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Collaborate with general and special education staff to adapt curriculum and instructional materials
  • Participate in IEP development and implementation for eligible students
  • Advocate for student access to classroom and school-wide activities
  • Monitor student progress and maintain clear documentation
  • Communicate effectively with families, staff, and outside providers
