Qualifications:
- Valid teaching credentials for Deaf/Hard of Hearing, or eligibility to obtain relevant state certification
- Experience working with children who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in a school or educational setting preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Proficiency with assistive technology, auditory/oral and/or sign language communication strategies
- Commitment to individualized support and differentiated instruction
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support services to students with hearing impairments, adapting lessons as needed
- Evaluate student progress and maintain accurate documentation for IEPs and other educational plans
- Collaborate with general educators, speech-language pathologists, and support staff to foster inclusion
- Engage with families and caregivers to support students’ communication and academic goals
- Participate in IEP meetings, providing expert input on student needs and accommodations
- Facilitate use of hearing technology and advocate for accessible classroom environments
