Key Qualifications:

• Certification or licensure to teach students who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing
• Experience with various communication modalities, including ASL, signed English, or auditory-oral methods
• Ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet individual student needs
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with teachers, parents, and staff
• Commitment to promoting student self-advocacy and independence

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instructional services to students with hearing loss, both in individual and group settings
• Develop and implement IEP goals in collaboration with educational teams
• Assess students’ unique needs and determine appropriate accommodations and modifications
• Serve as a resource for general education teachers regarding effective strategies and technology for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student evaluations and progress reports
• Support families in understanding students’ needs and available resources
