Teacher of the Deaf in Olivehurst, CA

Key Qualifications and Requirements:

• Valid certification or credential in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
• Experience supporting children and adolescents with hearing impairments, including those who utilize cochlear implants
• Strong collaboration and communication skills for coordinating with school teams and families
• Ability to travel within the county and work across multiple sites as needed
• Flexibility to adapt lesson plans and materials to diverse learning environments
• On-site presence is mandatory; this is not a virtual/remote position

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction and support services for a caseload of approximately 30 students in various locations throughout the county
• Conduct assessments and develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs
• Offer guidance, resources, and advocacy to families and teachers to foster an inclusive and accessible classroom environment
• Collaborate with school personnel to ensure accommodations and modifications are implemented effectively
• Monitor student progress, adjusting strategies and interventions as necessary
• Assist in training staff and providing consultation regarding auditory technology and accessibility
