Make a meaningful impact supporting students as a dedicated Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. This full-time, full school year contract role offers the opportunity to work with a small caseload, with specific assignments to be confirmed soon. You’ll collaborate with educators and families to create inclusive learning environments tailored to each student’s unique needs.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active Washington state teaching license with DHH/Deaf & Hard of Hearing endorsement
  • Demonstrated experience teaching or supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Knowledge of current instructional strategies, assistive technology, and accommodations for DHH learners
  • Strong communication and advocacy skills, including collaboration with multidisciplinary teams

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) addressing students’ strengths and learning needs
  • Provide direct instruction to DHH students, adapting lessons and materials for optimal accessibility
  • Coordinate with general and special education staff to ensure successful inclusion in the classroom
  • Offer consultative support and training to staff and families on strategies and auditory technology
  • Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports, actively participating in IEP meetings
