Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher - Ooltewah, Tennessee

You’ll play an integral part in enhancing educational access and success for students across multiple schools, working collaboratively within a supportive educational team.

What You’ll Need:

• Current active DOE certification
• Successful completion of fingerprinting requirements
• Experience working as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
• Flexibility to work with varied caseloads and age groups (final assignments to be confirmed)
• Commitment to supporting diverse communication needs, including sign language and assistive technology
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with students, families, and fellow educators

What You’ll Do:

• Provide specialized instruction and support for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to meet diverse learner needs
• Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate on the design of individualized student plans
• Consult with general education teachers and staff on best practices for inclusion and accessibility
• Monitor and document student progress, ensuring optimal educational outcomes
• Serve as an advocate and resource for students and their families

Position Details:

• Contract duration: August 5, 2026 – May 19, 2027
• Full-time schedule, 35 hours per week
• School assignment and caseload details will be provided as finalized by the district
• Location: Schools across the Chattanooga area
