Your experience and passion for teaching students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing will be essential in helping these learners thrive. As part of a dynamic educational team, you’ll be creating tailored learning environments, supporting individualized education programs (IEPs), and championing accessibility.
Qualifications and Experience Desired:
- Valid certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing Education or eligibility for such credentials.
- Previous experience as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Deaf culture, ASL, and communication modalities.
- Familiarity with IEP processes and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
Your Role Includes:
- Delivering engaging, age-appropriate instruction to students with hearing differences.
- Adapting curriculum and teaching strategies to meet IEP goals.
- Assessing student progress and maintaining accurate records.
- Consulting with general education staff on accommodations and best practices.
- Providing support to families and caregivers to ensure consistency across environments.
- Collaborating with related service providers to address students’ holistic needs.
