Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university
  • A valid Alabama Teacher’s Certificate
  • Must meet Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) federal and state requirements, or show willingness to complete these within the required timeframe
  • Required licensure for Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) teaching in the State of Alabama
  • Strong communication skills and a talent for collaborative work
  • Passion for empowering students with diverse hearing needs

Position Overview:

  • Deliver tailored instruction and support to students identified as deaf or hard of hearing across various grade levels
  • Collaborate frequently with teachers, counselors, families, and other service providers
  • Develop and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs), using your DHH expertise to set and achieve meaningful goals
  • Advocate for accessible learning environments and facilitate the use of assistive technology
  • Provide ongoing progress feedback and act as a resource on auditory and communication strategies
