Make a meaningful impact while working as a DHH Consultant for the 26/27 school year on a part-time basis (approximately 3-4 days per week). In this contract position, you’ll collaborate with educators, staff, and families to support students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. Your expertise will guide best practices and foster an inclusive, communicative learning environment for students with hearing differences.
Qualifications & Experience Desired:
- Valid teaching credentials with specialization in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education.
- Demonstrated experience as a Teacher of the Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
- In-depth understanding of instructional strategies for students with hearing loss.
- Proficiency in sign language (ASL or other signing methods) is highly valued.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and school administrators.
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide consultation and support services for students with hearing impairments.
- Advise classroom teachers and staff on modifications, accommodations, and accessibility tools.
- Assist in the development and review of IEPs related to hearing support needs.
- Conduct student observations and assessments to inform recommendations.
- Collaborate with families to promote optimal learning outcomes.
- Offer training and resources to school personnel for DHH student support.
- Stay abreast of current research and developments in Deaf education.
