In this full-time position, you’ll provide specialized instruction, support, and advocacy for students who are deaf or hard of hearing, empowering them to flourish academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid teaching credentials, with endorsement or certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
  • Experience applying a variety of communication methods, including American Sign Language (ASL), Signed Exact English (SEE), spoken language, and assistive technology
  • Strong skills in developing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to adapt lesson plans for diverse learning levels and integrate students into general education environments when appropriate
  • Compassionate, patient, and committed to supporting student growth and community inclusion

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver instruction tailored to deaf/hard of hearing students in one-on-one and small group settings
  • Assess student progress, adapt strategies, and participate actively in IEP meetings and evaluations
  • Partner with parents, classroom teachers, interpreters, and specialists to create a holistic, supportive environment
  • Provide classroom accommodations, resources, and professional development to faculty and staff regarding hearing loss and communication options
  • Stay current on best practices, technology, and educational materials for Deaf Education
