Key Qualifications:
- Certified or eligible for certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Background and experience working with elementary-aged students preferred
- Solid understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Skilled in adapting curriculum and teaching strategies to individual learning needs
- Ability to foster positive relationships and communicate effectively with students, parents, and the educational team
- Commitment to inclusion and empowering students to reach their fullest potential
Primary Responsibilities:
- Guide and instruct a diverse caseload of 14-15 elementary students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals; conduct assessments as needed
- Collaborate closely with school staff and families to support each child’s educational progress
- Provide both direct and consultative services, tailoring delivery to each student's needs
- Utilize and support the use of assistive technology
- Advocate for students’ communication needs within the classroom setting
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of services
This position offers part-time hours, with the benefit of early dismissals on Mondays and Wednesdays, ensuring a healthy work-life balance and adequate planning time. The contract will run for the full 2026-2027 school year, providing the opportunity to see your students grow and thrive over time.
