Make an impact supporting students with hearing differences as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing in a dynamic setting near Pleasant View, TN. This contract role begins August 3, 2026, and runs through May 28, 2027, following the school calendar, and offers a full-time, Monday–Friday schedule (37.5 hours per week). Assignments may involve working across Pre-K, elementary, and an expanding middle school hub, providing essential services to K–12 students across various campuses in the Nashville area’s northern suburbs.
What you’ll need to succeed:
- Valid Tennessee Department of Education Certification for Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Ability to successfully complete all required background checks, including Tennessee fingerprinting
- Experience supporting students with hearing differences across K–12 populations
- Flexibility to adapt to varying caseloads and assignments, with the majority of work being consultative in nature
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Commitment to fostering inclusive, accessible learning environments
Core responsibilities:
- Deliver both direct and consultative instructional services to students with hearing loss as determined by IEPs and student needs
- Serve as an educational partner and resource for classroom teachers, staff, and families
- Support students’ academic, social, and emotional growth through specialized strategies and advocacy
- Contribute to IEP development, evaluation, and compliance
- Work across DHH program hubs and travel between assigned schools as needed
