Make a meaningful impact for students as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Chester County, PA. This full-time contract opportunity extends from December 2026 to June 2027, engaging with a diverse PK-12 age range. You'll work with approximately 34 students across about a dozen campuses, providing direct and consultative support to maximize educational access and student growth.
Your specialized skills will shape the learning experiences of D/HH students, collaborating closely with educators and families. Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid PA DHH K-12 certification (Instructional I or II required)
- Demonstrated teaching experience with Deaf or Hard of Hearing students, preferably in school settings
- In-depth understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and differentiated instruction
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities
- Comfortable serving a PK-12 age population and managing a dynamic caseload
- Flexible, self-motivated, and passionate about equity in education
Duties and Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and indirect services to Deaf/Hard of Hearing students in various schools
- Create accessible, engaging lesson plans tailored to student needs
- Consult with general education staff and families to promote inclusion
- Support IEP development and implementation
- Advocate for student needs and accommodations across educational settings
- Travel between approximately 12 campuses as assigned
