Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide consultative services and specialized instruction in weekly 30-minute sessions for assigned students, in alignment with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals customized for each student’s needs as a deaf or hard-of-hearing learner
  • Complete necessary paperwork and documentation to ensure regulatory compliance
  • Collaborate closely with educational staff and families to optimize student outcomes

Qualifications:

  • Active New York certification as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (PK–12)
  • Demonstrated experience as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Working knowledge of hearing technology, including FM/DM systems, AAC, or cochlear implants
