Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) - Provo, Utah

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid teaching certification for Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH), or eligibility to obtain certification
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education or a related field
• Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing, preferably in a school environment
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or total communication approach
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Ability to adapt instructional materials to meet individual student needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, ensuring access to curriculum and fostering academic and social development
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in partnership with IEP teams, families, and other professionals
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and school staff to promote inclusive practices
• Consult and train staff and families on effective strategies, assistive technology, and accommodations
• Monitor student progress, maintain accurate records, and participate in required meetings
