A contract opportunity is available for a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing, supporting students in a dynamic school environment. Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Demonstrated knowledge of current instructional strategies for D/HH students
- Experience with both individual and small group instruction
- Ability to develop and modify educational materials for accessibility
- Understanding of assistive technology and its implementation in educational settings
- Strong communication and collaborative skills to work effectively with educators, families, and service providers
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Deliver targeted instruction in accordance with students’ unique learning needs
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to integrate accommodations and modifications
- Utilize and recommend appropriate assistive technology and classroom resources
- Foster self-advocacy, communication skills, and independence among students
- Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and participate in IEP meetings
