Exciting opportunities are available for experienced educators passionate about supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. For the 2026-2027 school year, we are seeking dedicated professionals to serve a vibrant K-12 population. This full-time contract role offers the unique chance to work itinerantly throughout a district near Richlands, NC, allowing you to make a difference in diverse learning environments. You will collaborate closely with a highly supportive and resourceful team that values fresh perspectives and innovative approaches.

Qualifications and Preferred Experience:

  • Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
  • Demonstrated expertise working with K-12 students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Experience developing and implementing IEPs for students with hearing needs
  • Knowledge of sign language and assistive communication technology preferred
  • Excellent communication, consultation, and organizational skills
  • Flexibility to travel between school sites as an itinerant teacher
  • Commitment to fostering inclusive classroom environments

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and consultative instructional support to Deaf/Hard of Hearing students across multiple school sites
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, families, and related service providers to ensure student success
  • Develop individualized learning plans based on current assessments and student needs
  • Advocate for appropriate accommodations and resources
  • Participate in team meetings, training, and ongoing professional development
  • Serve as an educational resource for staff and families regarding best practices for Deaf/Hard of Hearing learners
