Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid state teaching certification or eligibility as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
• Experience providing instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing preferred
• Strong understanding of assistive technology, accommodations, and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) preferred but not required
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with students, families, and school teams
• Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of learners

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct instruction and support services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing in accordance with IEP goals
• Consult with classroom teachers and staff to support accommodations and modifications for student access
• Develop and implement individualized strategies that promote language and communication development
• Collaborate with families and multidisciplinary teams to monitor student progress and adjust plans as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation and participate in IEP meetings
• Serve as an advocate for students’ needs within the school environment
