Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education (or eligibility to obtain)
• Experience working with students with varying levels of hearing loss
• Proficiency with assistive listening devices and related technology
• Strong skills in sign language (ASL or SEE preferred)
• Ability to develop and adapt IEPs to meet individualized needs
• Excellent communication skills and collaborative mindset
• Innovative approach to differentiated instruction
• Patience, adaptability, and genuine passion for student advocacy

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction to students with hearing impairments in mainstream or self-contained settings
• Develop and implement educational plans tailored to each student’s communication method and learning style
• Collaborate with general education teachers to modify curriculum and classroom environments as needed
• Offer guidance and resources to families, ensuring strategies are supported at home
• Monitor student progress, maintain thorough documentation, and participate in IEP meetings
• Support the use and management of hearing technology and related classroom resources
• Advocate for students’ needs and access to services within the broader school community
