Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid certification or licensure to teach Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
- Experience delivering instruction in a school setting, preferably K-12
- Strong knowledge of instructional strategies for students with hearing loss
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and/or other communication methodologies as appropriate
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and school staff
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing within various classroom settings
- Develop and adapt curriculum to meet the diverse learning needs of students
- Assess student progress and document outcomes in compliance with educational standards and IEP goals
- Serve as a resource for general education teachers, supporting inclusion and accommodations
- Foster an inclusive learning environment and strong student engagement
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary educational teams
