Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Valid certification or licensure to teach Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
  • Experience delivering instruction in a school setting, preferably K-12
  • Strong knowledge of instructional strategies for students with hearing loss
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and/or other communication methodologies as appropriate
  • Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and school staff

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing within various classroom settings
  • Develop and adapt curriculum to meet the diverse learning needs of students
  • Assess student progress and document outcomes in compliance with educational standards and IEP goals
  • Serve as a resource for general education teachers, supporting inclusion and accommodations
  • Foster an inclusive learning environment and strong student engagement
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary educational teams
