Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing or eligibility for certification
- Proven experience or strong interest in working with children ages birth to five
- Expertise in sign language, auditory/oral approaches, and/or total communication methods
- Ability to design and implement individualized educational programs (IEPs)
- Strong collaboration and communication skills for working with caregivers and colleagues
- Commitment to fostering a supportive, inclusive environment for DHH students
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to students with hearing loss in early childhood settings
- Assess students’ needs and track progress toward IEP goals
- Develop lesson plans tailored to individual learning styles and communication modalities
- Consult with teachers, specialists, and family members to ensure well-rounded support
- Advocate for appropriate accommodations and ensure access to the general education curriculum
- Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with district and state requirements
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and professional development opportunities
