What you’ll bring:
- Current certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Experience working with K-12 students in educational settings
- Strong knowledge of auditory/oral, total communication, and/or American Sign Language methodologies
- Ability to assess student progress and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, accessible classroom
- Exceptional interpersonal skills for collaborating with educators, families, and specialists
Your responsibilities include:
- Providing individualized and group instruction to students with hearing impairments
- Developing and adapting educational materials and lesson plans to meet each student’s unique needs
- Collaborating with school personnel, speech/language pathologists, and other professionals
- Serving as a resource for staff and families, offering strategies and support
- Maintaining detailed records of student performance and progress
- Advocating for accessibility and effective communication both in and out of the classroom
