  • Current certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
  • Experience working with K-12 students in educational settings
  • Strong knowledge of auditory/oral, total communication, and/or American Sign Language methodologies
  • Ability to assess student progress and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive, accessible classroom
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills for collaborating with educators, families, and specialists

Your responsibilities include:

  • Providing individualized and group instruction to students with hearing impairments
  • Developing and adapting educational materials and lesson plans to meet each student’s unique needs
  • Collaborating with school personnel, speech/language pathologists, and other professionals
  • Serving as a resource for staff and families, offering strategies and support
  • Maintaining detailed records of student performance and progress
  • Advocating for accessibility and effective communication both in and out of the classroom
