Teacher of the Deaf in Roseboro, NC

This part-time, contract position for an experienced Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (TDHH) promises flexibility and the chance to shape educational experiences for the upcoming school year. With an estimated 10–15 hours per week, you’ll provide specialized instruction and advocacy for students while collaborating with a dedicated educational team.

Qualifications:

• Current credential or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
• Previous experience working in school settings with D/HH students preferred
• Proficient understanding of accommodations, assistive technology, and IEP processes for D/HH learners
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with both staff and families
• Passion for empowering students and fostering an inclusive classroom environment

Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct and consultative services to students who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing, as indicated in individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Partner with classroom teachers to modify curriculum and instruction methods as needed
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records of services provided
• Consult with families and educational teams to address students’ communication and learning needs
• Facilitate access to appropriate resources and technologies
• Participate in meetings and contribute to evaluations, goal planning, and ongoing support strategies
