Qualifications and Desired Background:

• State certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (or eligibility to obtain)
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or closely related field
• Experience implementing IEPs and collaborating in multi-disciplinary teams
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and/or Signed Exact English (SEE), as required by district
• Strong communication abilities, both written and verbal
• Previous school-based experience preferred but not required; new graduates are encouraged to apply

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct and consultative services for students with hearing impairments in various educational settings
• Develop and adapt instructional materials to meet individual student needs
• Facilitate classroom inclusion and promote self-advocacy for students
• Participate in IEP meetings, assessments, and progress monitoring
• Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to support student success
