Make an impact by guiding and empowering students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in a supportive onsite teaching environment. With a full-time contract opportunity beginning August 3, 2026, and running through May 20, 2027, your expertise will nurture communication skills, academic achievement, and confidence in young learners.
This position requires dedication to all onsite responsibilities throughout the school year, working with a caseload that will be specified prior to the start date. As a member of the educational team, you’ll play an essential role in supporting students’ growth and fostering inclusive learning experiences.
What we’re looking for:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (state issued or eligible for reciprocity)
- Experience working with Deaf/Hard of Hearing students in K-12 settings
- Strong understanding of various communication modes (including American Sign Language, Signed Exact English, oral communication, and assistive technology)
- Ability to create and adapt lesson plans to meet individual educational goals
- Fluency in building positive relationships with students, parents, and educational staff
- Strong organizational and collaboration skills
Your responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction based on students’ Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Provide language and communication support using appropriate strategies and tools
- Collaborate with general education teachers and related service personnel
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to ongoing progress monitoring
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with all educational standards and processes
